New burning topics for research in corporate board practices

Editorial team and Publisher of the journal “Corporate Board: role, duties and composition” aimed to outline the most perspective fields of research in corporate board practices which will be demanded by the scholars worldwide. We asked the Advisory Board members of the journal to provide their point of view.

Alessio Maria Pacces, Professor of Law and Finance, Erasmus School of Law, and Director, European Master in Law and Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands), forecasts that the following issues of corporate board practices will be on the forefront of the scholarly research:

  • the role of the board in related party transactions
  • the role of the board in the presence of shareholder activism

Mattias Nordqvist, Professor of Business Administration, Jönköping International Business School (Sweden), believes that the role of ownership for governance and boards should be also investigated.

Paul Moxey, Visiting Professor in Corporate Governance at London South Bank University (UK), stated that in the near future the most popular scholarly research topics in corporate board practices will be:
